Skipping Detroit again...come on guys. Chicago 2008 Empty Bottle show was worth the drive/hotel/etc for sure, but the 09 Double Door show was a let down. Venue was pretty poor (EDIT: actually it was horrible)...crowd was not very interested...lighting/smoke was kind of weak...acoustics didn't really do it for me, but that could be becasue I entered the place an hour after doors opened and easily walked right up to the stage. Also thought the set list was a quick one.

I don't know where they'd play in Ann Arbor though...pig is way too small for them.

Either way, and it's sad to say, I won't be making the trip to Chicago to see them in 2010.

Magic Stick in Detroit is a good venue.

I actually think the Pig is perfect. There was nobody at the last show they played at the Magic Stick which is why i assume they skipped Detroit last tour and will again this time. The time they played the Magic Stick before that was slightly better but if they broke 100 people at either show i would be shocked. The Pig holds around 400 and i would think enough college kids would go to make it worthwhile.

Fair enough. For some reason i always think the pig is smaller then it is. Good point cause Double Door was quite a big place and it was anything but full. Personally they looked a little disinterested to me...but I'm sure a half empty venue can do that to you.

Man A2 show would be great...Walking distance and it would be ear shattering loud in there.

Um...they played the Majestic Theatre with 800beloved, Played in Toledo and Northern Detroit with NIN, .  And are now playing in Toledo again solo (going to be the best show of all there whole tour).  I don't think you have earned your concern for not playing in your city.  Most bands pass up Cleveland for Detroit.  So consider your depressive town better then my depressive town.  Go to the Toledo show.  Hell hit up the Cleveland Grog Shop show.  If you really love them, you will travel.  So far I am going to catch them in Toledo, Cleveland, and either Chicago or Minneapolis (not sure).  I know they have never played Pittsburgh, I should know I would have driven to that show.  So Pitt People are the ones that should be cynical.

Ummm...I'm not counting an opening gig for NIN as a show my douchey friend. That's weak sauce. Maybe if it were (wow jesus has it been that long?) over 15 years ago I'd pay for NIN tix and drive all the way to Auburn Hills but no thanks. Cleveland is a total pit and i would never go there for any reason. Teledo show is def a good idea (as you can see they added it after our bitching) so maybe I'll head down Ohio way.
I'd be carefull about seeing them that many times. That last Chicago show was a real stinker. Sure it was just a low point, but you never know.

Anyone go to one of the shows on the tour yet?  I'm going a week from Saturday and I can't wait.

Saw them in Toledo last Sunday.  On one hand I was disappointed that there were not many people there, but on the other hand you cannot beat being up front without any troubles for a great band.  Really surprised that this show, within an hour from 4 large universities, was not packed.  I am sure I will not have that opportunity for long with this band so I was really glad to be there.

The show was absolutely great.  Super loud, but well done.  Screaming guitars and heavy drums all came across perfectly in my opinion without taking away from the vocals.  Wished they would have played longer, but there were no breaks between songs absolutely relentless and ended around closing time for the bar so can't say I blame anyone for that.  Stuck around to wait for an encore and left when the gear started to be cleared.  All the reviews/descriptions of the live shows are right on the money.

Some bands are better recorded and some are better live.  APTBS is in a whole different category - absolutely monstrous live.  Trying to figure out how to get the same sound at home and in the car - no chance.  Recorded music way oone dimensional especially in the case of APTBS.  Will catch them whenever they are close by.

Different bassist on Sunday.  Not sure what is up with that, but he played great so no worries.
